Jessie Hastings, Vice-President
Jessie co-founded the Arts Academy in the Woods. She has written grants for the Academy beginning with the Charter School Start-up grant in 2000. She served as Vice Chair of the Academy Board from 2000-2005 and is currently the Chair.
Mrs. Hastings teaches Technical Writing and Composition at Macomb Community College. While in graduate school at Wayne State University, Mrs. Hastings was on the English Department Policy Committee and organized the first Wayne State International Graduate Student Conference.
While an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Hastings helped to create the costume shop at the Annenberg Center and was the wardrobe mistress for professional productions at the Zellerbach and Hal Prince Theaters in that facility. She also supervised student productions and designed costumes for Penn Players and the Penn Glee Club. She has been a member of Warren Woods Community Theater technical staff for the past 11 years and has worked as a set designer for local schools and community Theaters. She also designed and constructed ballet costumes for the Rose Marie School of Dance in Royal Oak from 1992-1999.
